Downmix DTS to Stereo

To convert dts encoded files, which have 6 channels, to 2-channel files with ffmpeg

ffmpg -i dts.wav -ac 2 stereo.wav

This works, but in my case the result was not very nice. It seemed as if a channel was lost or way to quiet. I found this mail in the mplayer forums and had better results with this command:

mplayer dts.wav -vc null -vo null -ao pcm:fast:file=stereo.wav -channels 6 -af pan=2:1:0:0:1:1:0:0:1:0.707:0.707:0.5:0.5

The pan= made the difference.

This created 32bit 2-channel wav files, which is not necessary at all and also not supported by flac. So I used sox to convert them to 16bit:

sox stereo32.wav -b16 stereo16.wav

Then I could finally create flac files from the wavs.
